The Rwandan woman who received global consideration for her arrest for indecent dressing has been given a 2-year prison term.

On August 9, 2022, Mugabekazi Lilliane, 24, was once detained and charged with public indecency for appearing an excessive amount of pores and skin whilst attending a Tayc live performance in Kigali.

She was once detained after being arrested and stored there whilst she awaited the end result of the case in court docket.

Following her detention, Faustin Nkusi, a spokeswoman for the prosecution, knowledgeable AFP that “She is suspected to have committed public indecency.”

Outrage was once raised when the arrest was once introduced, then again Johnston Busingye, a former justice minister of Rwanda, supported the motion.

A Rwandan court docket condemned Lilliane to 2 years in prison on Thursday, August 18.
